Joy Is a Mitzvah
Purim is the one day of the year when simcha is not just encouraged but commanded. For the Jews of Belarus, that joy is hard-won. Many live far from any vibrant Jewish community, and for the families and elderly in our care, a Seudas Purim is not something they could set on their own.
Yad Yisroel makes sure they are not left out. Students in our schools celebrate Purim with Megillah, costumes, and a full seudah. Poor and elderly Jews across the country receive food and Matanos L'evyonim delivered by our teams.
